My dear Senator,

I am very glad to have seen this
letter of Mr. Erving Winslow which you were
kind enough to send me. He is a very serious-
minded man and I value most unaffectedly the
aid and counsel he is trying to give. I think
your answer to his letter is undoubtedly a wise
one.
