at home. You have a tree to
get a little shade from once in
awhile. Of course one can see
a tree about twenty miles out
of camp but that is all the
good it does us. Last night we
went out with our gas masks on
as we expected a gas attack. There
was no wind at all subsequently
there was no gas attack. We were
a tired bunch that started out
this morning.

When this last bunch
left they said we would get
a few weeks of intensive
training and we are certainly
getting it. Thank the Lord there
are only two days more until
the new men arrive, and then
it will be a little easier. We
won't get any of this California
Camp Lewis. The Calif. draft all
goes to the Artillery, Ammunition
train and ambulance corps. The
men we get have had about a
month's training. We figure on
months now. If we get a bunch
of "nuts" who can't learn anythiing
we will be here for life though
