Could not get enough water to do any good from Larimer Co ditch
AUGUST 30. Fri As usual very fine and quite warm. Mr Dixon and Will hauled seed alfalfa got 8 loads. Lew went out with some samples of fruit such as pears plums sweet crabs etc. to see if he could sell some. Has not got back yet. Bert done sundry chores so did I. Was going to irrigate from the Larimer Co ditch but could not get any water to do any good. Had a good head in our ditch and got along over in Howards field nicely.
AUGUST 31. Sat Mighty nice today. Mr Dixon and Lew hauled five loads of seed alfalfa and put one load in the barn loft. Mother and I went up to the ranch to dig out some of the springs. Dug out three or four of them and while we were up on the hill near the road to the big spring we let the fence down in two places so that the stock could go through into the other field.
