SEPTEMBER 23. Mon Cool in the morning and kept growing cold all day. I suppose that Lew and Anda have got into Cheyenne before this time. Mr Dixon came this morning and in the forenoon we threshed out the Jappaneese [Japanese] buckwheat and brought it down in the afternoon. We worked at the Silver hull and brought up what we had threshed and put it in the granary.

SEPTEMBER 24. Tues Cold windy and disagreeable all day. Mr Dixon was here again and threshed buckwheat. I waked about 2 O clock with a great big fever but Hannah fixed some Acconite and I have taken it all day and I have less fever to night than I had in the morning and I think I feel better otherwise.
