Thurs March 6th
Clear but the wind blew considerable. The boys butchered the little sow in the forenoon and in the afternoon they trained Grant and Logan. I tinkered in the shop. The Jola cow had a nice heifer calf. Lews cow had a calf last night.

Friday March 7
Neither clear or stormy cold or warm but a little of all. The boys
broke colts some. I worked at the boat part of the time and pruned in the orchard some. The boys brought out some things for the boat such as lumber nails etc.
