Sat March 8
Mostly clear and quite warm. The boys drove the colts together to day and they seem to be the making of a nice team. Will Kingland came over to day and rode Dandy. He is going to break him to ride. I worked at the boat made quite a start at it.

Sunday March 9
Rather on the windy order to day. Will Kingland rode Dandy and he kicked up his heels quite lively. Took Slim home. Riley Wathan started for home just after supper. Dave and him killed about a dozzen [dozen] ducks to day. Lew has gone to take Meda over to town now. I have felt rather ill to day.
