Diary commencing Thurs May 25 1893
A slow drizzling rain about all day but
didnt wet down more than an inch in the
plowed ground. We done the chores and some
other odd jobs but not much else
had no water in the Larimer Co ditch
to irrigate with.

Fri May 24 Been cloudy most of the
day and commenced to rain about 4 O clock
very slowly but has rained quite a bit and now
it is raining quite a bit. We found some
28 inches of water in the No 2 head gate so I
started in to irrigate this morning a little
after John Richards came along and turned
some out of the big headgate. He said I
could take 19 inches to the share and that we
could use 3 shares so I did as near as I could.
The boys renovated over the old fence up as
far as the front gate from the lower end.

Sat May 27 Just such another fool
day as yesterday. Cloudy in the morning and
a few sunshiny streaks but sprinkled a
little towards night. Lew went to town
and took over the cream brought out a load of
coal and this afternoon plowed and planted
a few punkin [pumpkin] seed up near the potato patch.
Kib worked at the wood pile for a main
business. I irrigated alfalfa on the
ten acre piece.
