Sun May 28 Quite a pretty day. I kept the
water running on the ten acre piece on the
slope towards the south. Reas's and Charleys folks
and Meda were here and we had a jolly time a
visiting. The water was way down this
morning but a good deal better to night.

Mon May 29 Clear and lovely. We done
various odd jobs. Lew irrigated on the 10 acre
piece but somebody turned the water about all
into the Long Pond ditch and shut our gate
down. I dont know what they did that for as we
have not got that piece more than half irrigated.
I will try to believe that there is nobody mean
enough to treat us in such a way as that.
I worked on the new flume across Dry Creek $2.50
there were 4 of us framing the flume timber
making 2½ apiece which is ten dollars to day [today].

Tues May 30 A very windy day and pretty cold too.
Lew and Kib fixed fence got pretty near through.
I irrigated on the 10 acre piece until after
noon and the water got so scarce that I went up
to the ditch to see what the trouble was and found
a splendid head in the main ditch and so I
went to irrigating from the gate north of the
house. Found that some miserable thief
had stole some 20 or 25 trees from the
timber claim. I allso [also] found that the
Brandis ditch had run over the banks and
wet quite a piece of the timber claim.
