Thurs June 8 Quite pleasant and pretty
large warm. Lew went up to the ranch to
bring down a couple of his mare to breed them
has not got back yet. Kib and I finished planting
the black locust seed on the windy hill
place got done about 10 O clock AM making
a half days work between us. Then we
put in the rest of the day at the strawberr-
ies etc.

Fri June 9 Quite nice to day only
it is so awful dry and it seems as though it was
never going to rain. Mother Lew and I went
over to town quite early for I had some business
to do before we started out. We eat dinner at
Mrs Rubys and started at 2 O clock for
Denver by way of Boulder. Meda met us
at the depot with a carriage and team and
he drove us about town so that we could
see the place. We thought it a very nice
town with many nice residences and
quite a goodly number of good business houses.
We staid [stayed] at Mrs Bushes and were very much
pleased with her and Medas surroundings.
The boys irrigated the strawberries and
done something at the cabbage plants.
