Tues May 2 A little colder and some wind towards night. Lew and Kib worked at the oat ground. I sowed oats this forenoon and this afternoon at getting out grease woods around the lake.

Wed May 3 Clear and cloudy and rained just a little several times. The boys finished the piece of oats up at Windy ill [hill]. I finished the grease woods at the lake done some chores about the barn and put in the rest of the day at spading up a posey bed for the women folks.

Thurs May 4 Middling Clear but awful windy. Kib went over with the cream got back about 2 Oclock and helped Lew. After that Lew hauled manure. I helped mother at setting shubbery in the front yard.

Fri May 5 A cold and quite windy and is now raining very nicely. Lew went to Spring Canion [Canyon] and has not got back. Hat and the girls were here to day. Kib and I worked at one thing and another at home.

Sat May 6 Lew got home last night but left his load of poles in town. It has stormed all of the time since it began last night and still keeps it up slowly with a prospect of continueance for some time. The boys done the chores and that is about all that we have done to day.

Sun May 7 Cloudy and cool. Lew and Mary went off a riding. Kib went to town. Mother and I kept Sunday. Had quite a call from P G Terry and we talked ditch and reservoir quite considerable.

Mon May 8 A pretty good day but threatened rain lots and must have rained some not far away. We fixed the fence from our hill piece so that stock will not get over on the Terrys piece and this afternoon Lew and Mary went to town and creamery and brought back the load of poles from town that Lew left there Friday. Kib and I stayed the fence up there on the hill and done lots of other short jobs.

Tues May 9 Good enough sunshiny and warm and not windy much. Lew and Kib done sundry odd jobs this forenoon and I raised raspberry bushes and this afternoon we finished raising the raspberries and planted some big french beans and some golden wax beans and fixed some fince and laid of [off] this piece north of the barn and some ground down in the orchard etc.

Wed May 10 A good deal of wind most of the time to day and it was quite cold too. The boys branded 18 head of calves and 3 colts besides one calf for Charleys folks. I put in the day planting beans and corn on the piece north of the barn and filling the cistern.

Thurs May 11 Just as nice as could be. The boys took 26 head of cattle and 4 colts one was Lews Stella up to the ranch to day. I finished planting the corn north of the barn.

Fri May 12 A fine growing day. We put in the potatoes up on the Windy hill place and I worked this afternoon at the folks's flower beds. We turned Nell and her colt up in the field at Windy hill.

Sat May 13 Nice and warm. Lew prepared the ground and we Kib and I planted between the trees in the lower orchard to popcorn beans punkin [pumpkin] and squash seed and potatoes.

Sun May 14 Quite a nice day. Mother and I went up to Charleys. Reas's folks were there and we had a real nice visit. Harry and Annie Dixon were here and visited Lew and Mary.

Mon May 15 Nice and pretty. Lew plowed the piece towards the barn. Kib [beamed?] for him some and helped me some at cutting up dandelions and spraying trees. We got a good start at the spraying business.

Tues May 16 Mostly clear here but a shower or two waltsed around on different sides of us this afternoon making quite a bit of noise. We finished spraying the orchard and finished digging up the dandelions and finished getting the piece towards the barn ready for planting. Hauled a load of hay from the Windy hill place and now the youngsters have gone a fishing up at rocky ridge lake.

Wed May 17 Clear and pretty hot. Lew and I went up to Mr Pennocks and got about 1800 strawberry plants. Kib irrigated the dooryard and things around the house.

Thurs May 18 Clear mostly but awful windy in the afternoon. The dust was just awful. I irrigated this forenoon and this afternoon we planted the piece towards the barn with sweet corn punkins [pumpkins] melons etc. Mother and Kib went to town and creamery this forenoon.
