Thurs Nov first Variable that means
a squall of wind about once in half an
hour and rather cold besides. We started to thresh
alfalfa seed but only run an hour or so and had
to quit on account of the wind and Mr Kelm
fired up once or twice during the day but
it would come on a wind spasm and that
knocked us out. Mr Marsh helped a little
while this morning. John got home and helped a little.

Fri Nov 2 Just as nice as you could
wish. We kept threshing away but was stopped
several times by belts and one thing and
another so we didnt get done at our job
quite and the seed didnt turn out so well
Either. John helped all day. 1

Sat Nov 3 A pretty nice day not much wind and
no storm. We finished our alfalfa and
allso [also] Will Dixons and we have got ours put away
in the granery [granary] to keep for better prices. They
seem to be paying only 5½ cts [cents] a pound for
it now. John helped. 2

Sun Nov 4 Nice and clear. Sunshiny
and Still but quite cool. We kept Sunday
tolerable well. Frank came over and brought
their chickens and calf and one of Lews
calves and we will tend to them for a few
days until they can get to move.
