Mon Nov 5 Oh how nice only a little cold in
the morning. John and I hauled and buried
the large potatoes all but two sacks that we put in
the cellar had about 20 bushels of them. We
brought the small ones up but want to wash
them before we bury them. Then we husked
corn for a little while.

Tues Nov 6 Very nice all day. We went over to
town to vote and did our duty by voting a clean
ticket both Mother and me. Johny went
along but Agnes McBride died this morning so
Johny went to tell John dragers [Dragers] folks and Charleys
of it and Mother and I went over to Lews and
staid [stayed] until most night and had a tim [time]
getting home.

Wed Nov 7 Pretty fair day but not
alltogether [altogether] clear. Frank and Johny and I went
to Aggies funeral and did not do much of
anything else. She was buried in the
Laporte Cemetry [Cemetery] and it made us rather late
getting home and when we got home we found
that Mr John Helm was going to be here to
thresh out the grain tomorrow. The news
from the elections claims Evrything [Everything] republican.

Thurs Nov 8 Fine very. Mr Helm came with his
outfit and threshed out our grain. We had 104½ bush [bushels]
barley 110 of wheat and 21 bush [bushels] of oats on our own
place and 136 bushels of oats on the windy hill
place. I suppose the bill will be about 17 [$17.00]. We got
the grain in the grainey [granary] and evrything [everything] pretty well
fixed up too. 4
