Fri Jan 25 Whew what a cold wind we
hav [have] had to day [today]. It has been mostly clear however.
Lew staid [stayed] at Franks last night and has not got
back yet. Dan helped do the chores and John
went to school to day [today] and I read about Jacob
hunting after his dad.

Sat Jan 26 Very nice to day [today].
Lew got home in time to Eat supper and get
ready to go down to Reas's. John Dan and I
shelled out the corn to day [today] and done it
all up nice too.

Sun Jan 27 Pretty cold and a little
fresh snow this morning. The thermometer
showed just below zero. We all kept near the
fire to day [today]. Arthur has a hard cold and didnt
go to town to night [tonight].

Mon Jan 28 Somewhat more
more moderate to day [today] but zero this
morning. Lew helped awhile at the wood
pile then him and Mother went to town
and she came home sporting a brand new
pair of long sight glasses which makes
her look very much younger. I fixed
up the saws and worked a little at the
wood pile. Dan gave the wood pile
hankins after I got the buck saw
fixed.
