Tues Jan 29 A little warmer but still
with a south wind it has been pretty cold.
I tried to work some in the shop but found it
pretty cold down there. Dan started for the coal
bank this afternoon will stay at Franks to
night [tonight]. Lew went to town this afternoon has
not got back yet.

Wed Jan 30 Rather raw and cold.
Lew went to town with Mrs Bartlett who
took the 2.20 [2:20] train for Boulder. John went to
school. I kept near the fire. Dan is at the
coal bank with Frank I suppose.

Thurs Jan 31 As nice as a
silver tea spoon in the morning but along
about 10 O clock it began to cloud up and
grow colder and by 12 it was as bad as
blazes and the wind blew like all possessed
and it snowed quite a smart bit but to
night [tonight] it is a good deal better. Mrs Bee
started this morning for Mr Morses but
had to turn around when half way there
and stopped here pretty cold. She staid [stayed] until
most night and we had a nice visit with
her and Lew went over with her. Hannah is
suffering from a severe cold that she caught
when she went to town to get her eyes tested
she cant sleep on account of the coughing.
Johny went to school. Lew has been doing
all kinds of odd jobs to day [today]. I worked at the
barrells awhile this morning. Dan has not
got back yet.
