Authorities through our lines to the line of the enemy to the amount of (800) eight hundred bales, from any river, landing, post in the said department, to be transported on delivery of said forty thousand dollars worth of goods, or in proportion to the a-mount of goods delivered—; That is to say if any portion of the goods are delivered, then a corresponding portion of cotton shall be transported: and so on from time to time , in proportion to the Amount of goods delivered—This contract may be rescinded, by the said party of the first part at any time before the 1st day of July 1864 : But all goods brought in by them before the first day of July next, shall be turned over to the said part of the second part

The said party of she second part shall also have the privelege of rescinding this contract, on or after the 1st day of July next—: but all goods con-tracted for by the first^said^ parties of the first part, the said party of the second part, shall feel bound to take, provided they are all delivered or or before the 1st day of August 1864—The said party of the second part, promises his influence & exertions in securing to the said parties of the first part, prompt transportation for the cotton to be used under the provisions of this contract & any further protection that he may be enabled to afford to
