was a mechanic. As luck would have it he matched another mechanics to see which one would go up for a ride.

Thursday July 25 ‘18.

Cecil Huntington a close friend of Billiard’s, and also from San Francisco was killed this afternoon. He was flying in formation at Field #7 and did a rounversement and landed on top of another plane. The other fellow got down alright but one wing was only hanging on.

Had afternoon classes.

Counter Lines

Counter on our map wil be 2 1/2 m or 250 cm. It takes 1646 paces to rise 250 cm. with 1° slope = 1 counter even 164.6 paces 2° " " 82.3 " 3° " " 54.8 " 6° " " 27.3 " R.F. = 1/10,000 for 1° slope there will be 1 counter every 1.4325 cm. on the map.

Figure out a scale for every degree slope for number of places. __________________________________________________

and also saw the mechanic lean back on the tail as far as he could and the piolet was down inside the machine evidently trying to fix something. This is the first fatal acident with a Liberty. This is said to be the most complete smash of any machine at Issoudun.

The lieutenants name was Billard, and he was from San Fransisco.
