Left Berkeley on Pacific Limited. Twenty eight of the fourty two. Had a wonderful send off. Our private car was loaded down with flowers, cigars, cigarettes, etc. Picked up Boutz and Fox at Sacramento. Used empty baggage car in front of us as a gymnasium. Picked up Foster at Auburn. Stoped ten minutes to view Blue Canyon & American River 1500+ ft. below. Fine time snowballing at Blue Canyon.

of art but it is sunny Cal. for mine every time.

Well dear you certainly must be having the time of your life. Only you should not have so many blow outs as that delays the game. When we travel over here we never have any time for blow outs but just keep right on going. I certainly would like to be with you on some of those auto trips. I know I am missing many a good time but that is some thing which can not be helped. I will try and make up for lost time when I get back. I hope you enjoyed your trip up to Sacramento on the Fourth of July and I certainly would like to have been there. I hope you enjoyed your vacation and had a good time. I am going to take a long vacation

My dear old Snedward:

Just a few lines to let you know I have paid Adams & West for your uniform, so you wont have it on your mind. We were very glad last night to get your letter giving your address and to know that you are to stay for awhile at Kearny. I should imagine that with the tremendous proposed increase in the Army, some of you young officers would have to remain to coach them. We got a long letter from Nor last night. He has qualified as expert rifleman, and says he took 48 men to Olongapo and qualified all of them, the majority as experts!!

More letters came from Dick after you left. He seemed well & happy, but he thought I had not treated you well financially while you were in camp, as you were perpetually broke etc.

Mother not very well but will be all well in a day or so. Jos is as fine as silk and goes to the movies quite often. Jack & Ella well too. The Watermans are having their house painted, pearl grey, with a white roof. I think it is going to look very well. Lesley graduates I believe the end of next week. I don't know where they will send him but I see by the papers, that the plan is to have an intermediate school at Sacramento and another at Riverside where the cadets will be taught to fly and when they graduate from there, they will go to San Diego which is to be the place where all the final stunts are to be given. I suppose Mother will send you

and Joc will be here. We had a letter from them yesterday and they are having a wonderful time. They have seen lots of snow. It has been raining quite a lot they said. They saw Mabel in Sacramento.

To-night Boy, Elizabeth Vaughan, Ed Kollmyer and I are going over to the Fulton. To-morrow Mother and Dad are going to a wedding so I have to stay home and guard the presents.

I will do as you say and watch the office windows for a job. After all I may consider a doctor. You see it depends largely upon who the doctor is.

I have tried very hard to drive out the lonliness [loneliness] but I can't very much. I will be glad when you come home on Friday.

Sincerely, Marion Linderman
