Dear Mother: Rec'd the Christmas Box on the third all o.k. and sure enjoyed the candy and cigars. The hankerchiefs sure came in handy too as they are hard to get over here. Had two razors already but can use this one just the same. Toothpaste was what I needed pretty bad also the toothbrush.
Got your letter with the money order several days before I got the Christmas Package and many thanks for the

Dear mother: -
Rec'd your letter written on the 26th and the money order O.K. but wish you hadn't sent the money order. I have all the money I can use & we get paid again soon.
Don't believe I could cash it any way so will hold on to it and cash it when I get a chance. If we had a Y.M.C.A. around think I could cash it there but we have none here at present.

Dear mother:
Rec'd your letter written on the 7th of Feb. along with one from Ida and Fred written on the same date. Also got a very interesting letter from Jack Lash a while back. I wrote him and Fred both a letter today. We have been having a very good winter here. Not bad at all. We are billeted in Barracks now and have a Mess hall. We
