got up at seven and huridly packed. Had to leave at nine. All the U. C. fellows went to group Meyer, and the others to group Genie. Of the U. C. fellows, three went up on the hill. Twelve to the section by the farm house, and the remaining six to Peloton one.

Mat Desmond and I got a remarc to ourselves and fixed it up quite comfortably except for the lack of heat.

Mat and I were asigned to No twelve. Had to clean it as there is to be an inspiction in the morning.

cars untill the food gets better. All the boys agreed to strike for better food, as we know that it is comming to us. -- The Germans retreated from Craynon and all the Chemin des Dames yesterday.

High Howard, Dick Wilson, Mat Desmond and I went to the Malmeason. Had to walk most of the way. The plateau along the Cheman des Dames and the Malmeason certainly is a sight to behold. It is nothing but a mass of shell craters. A lot of the craters are fifteen ft deep or deeper. There is not
