Sage came down in flames today.

Monday Aug 12 '18

Got beaucoub mail today. Sage's funeral was this afternoon. Someone is locked to Field #10 nearly every day now. A German prisoner was acting rather disrespectful as the funeral was passing him, and his guard went to make him behave himself and the Boche picked up a pick and came after him. The guard shot him dead on the spot.

Sam Greanwood was killed this afternoon right next to the D.C. field. A Frenchman was folowing within a 100 yards of where he fell but he never went near the wreck to see if he could do any good. Moses busted his leg on a bum landing on eighteens.

Tuesday Aug. 13, '18.

The Boche prisoners struck today and wouldn't work. They are only loaned to us by the French or they wouldn't have struck for furg.

We were routed out of bed night before last for a fire in one of the hangers, and last night for a fire in one of the barrackses.
