Trustees.

Lease of part of Reception House

"The Reception House Committee, authorized on "to lease a portion of the new building for a refreshmentroom, and for no other purpose, for one year," with the provision "that the care of the building may be made a port of the consideration of said Lease," reported that they had attended to the duty assigned them, and had effected a Lease of the premises for one year at a rent of three hundred dollars per annum. to C. J. Belcher.

Fence G. prem. of J. C. Gray & R. H.

The same Committee, authorized on the above date "to arrange with Mr John C. Gray for an open partition fence between his premises and the lot on which the Reception Building stands," reported that they had attended to the duty assigned them.

Fence G. prem. of McDonald & R. H.

Also that the Superintendent who was authorized on the above date, under the directon of the same Committee, "to remove the high fence btween the grounds of McDonald, and the new building just erected by the Corporation as far back as the rear line of the new building, and to substitute therefor a slat fence not over four feet high," had attended to that duty.

Unfinished business. Sec'y. to furnish List of to Committees.

Voted, – that the Secretary be instructed to furnish the Chairman of each Committee of this Board a statement of the matter referred to that Committee and not yet finally disposed of.

Rep. of Lots appointed.

Upon the petitions of the parties in interest, representatives were designated for Lots as follows, viz; –

96 Caroline T. Kurtz of Boston, daughter of Melzar Dunbar, deceased proprietor of Lot numbered Ninety=Six.

confer with the Town authorities of Watertown in regard to raising the sidewalk, and fixing the grade of the street, and report thereon.

Neglected Lots Comn from Supt. Placed on file.

A communication dated , was received from the Superintendent in reference to neglected Lots pursuant to the requirements of Article 29 of the By=Laws, accompanied with books and forms used and proposed to be used in keeping records of said Lots and communicating with the proprietors thereof.

Voted, – that said communication be placed on file.

Carriage accns asked for by Supt.

A communication dated was received from the Superintendent asking that he might be provided with suitable carriage accommodations to drive in the Cemetery with parties desirous of purchasing Lots.

Referred to Prest with full powers

Voted, – that said communicaiton be referred to the President with full powers.

Dwelling houses for employee's referred to Com. on Grounds

A communication dated was received from the Superintendent suggesting that the Board of Trustees consider the expediency of providing dwelling houses for a few of the employees of the Corporation.

Voted, – that the subject be referred to the Committee on grounds to consider and report

Refreshment _ room, renewal of lease referred to Com. on Grounds

A verbal communication was addressed to the Board by the President in reference to the expediency of renewing the Lease of the Refreshment Room to C. J. Belcher of Cambridge. After consideration it was

Voted, – that the subject be referred to the Committee on Grounds to consider and report.

A Meeting of the Trustees was held, pursuant to adjournment, on , at half past Three o'clock, P.M.

Present, the President, and Messrs Bigelow, N. J. Bradlee, Brewer, Choate, Little, Livermore, Perkins, Snow and Turner.

The record of the last meeting was read and approved.

The proposed appropriation for the completion of a portion of the Receiving Tomb as embodied in the vote submitted by the Committee on Grounds at the last meeting, and laid over under Article 14 of the By=Laws, was renewed by the chairman of that Committee, and the same was unanimously adopted as follows, viz; –

Receiving Tomb. Partial Constrn of ordered.

Voted, – that the Superintendent be directed to construct under the direction of the Committee on Grounds the Vestibule and two compartments of the new Receiving Tomb, in accordance with plans submitted herewith, and that an amount not exceeding Six thousand dollars ($6000. –) be and hereby is appropriated to defray the expenses of the same.

Raising fence &c. subject postponed.

A verbal Report was received from the Committee on Grounds in reference to the raising of the fence on the front line of the Cemetery West of the Gate and of altering the grade of the street and sidewalk. After full discussion it was

Voted, – that the further consideration fo the subject be postponed to the next meeting.

Refreshment Room lease of authorized

A verbal Report was also made by the same Committee recommending the renewal of the Lease to Chas. J. Belcher of part of the Reception House for a Refreshment Room; and it was

Voted, – that the Committee on Grounds are hereby authorized to lease to Charles J. Belcher for one year the room recently
