Saturday Nov 20th. 1858.
Today commenced again to keep my Journal up regularly writing it every morg. after breakfast. We have returned two days ago from another trip to Kyauk Phyoo & Sandoway & depart tomorrow morning at daybr eak for Chittagong. had a slight feverish attack yesterday which followed purging & vomiting of the night before. Got up at 1/2 past 5 oclock this morning. weather very cool on deck. 12 oclock Been reading this forenoon Horners pamphlet on Homeopathy sitting on the Quarterdeck of the "Proserpine"

In the evening Mr. & Mrs. Chapman & Morris[written below] Capt. & Mrs. Eales came of & 150 Natives as we are to start for Chittagong at daylight tomorrow.
Sunday Nov 21st. 1858
Left Akyab at 5.40 this morning for Chittagong. With a fine breeze the weather beautifully cool. went on deck at 5.45. 10 oclock passed oyster island. beautiful clear moonlit night went along about 10 miles distant from land. remained on the bridge with Bowen & O'Shanntsky[?] till 9 oclock. went to bed at 9.30. roused up right 11.30 to See Edith. have today read 2 chapters of Exodus the plagues of the Egyptians, & some home letters, Jessies Marys & Willies of June July & August.
Monday Nov. 22nd. 1858
Up at 5.30. went on the Bridge till 6.20. Still moving along in our course to Chittagong an appearance

Ripley Johnson Young Goodwin Maynood Earl Hunt 3rd officer "Nem" Eales Bowen Dibbs Law Sang all round finished with Auld Lang Syne. Got on Thomas's poney outside lots of demands for it. Outside Ripleys sung (He's a jolly good fellow) returned on bd. After bidding Ripley Goodbye
Tuesday Feby. 1st. 1859
Left this mg. at daylight for Akyab before the "Nemesis" got about 2 miles start of her. She however soon passes us. Was a fine cool pleasant day. A pleasant trip. landed in Akyab at 4 ocl "Nemesis" had arrived at 2 p.m. A large number of ship[s] have come into Akyab since we left rather more than a month ago. Mate of the Lady head that we met at Chittagong at Fletcher's

"Nemesis" left for Chittagong this morning remained on bd. all day.

Went on shore this morning after breakfast with Cassiagni took a Ghanie & called at Woodwards & Dickies to pay accts. Went to the Bazaar & bought & few Burmah boxes & cups called at Barbers & Johnsons returned on bd. with Stables in his boat about 4 ocl

sprung up abot 10 fell calm in the evg. again.
Monday March 28th. 1859
Up about 6 had a bath. read Pickwick very close hot & muggy this forenoon. expect there may be some dirty weather a boy came to me today with spleen belonged to the Chittagong Naval Brigade. finished Pickwick commenced Pickwick abroad.
Tuesday March 29th. 1859.
Up a little after 5 took a bath on deck a cheroot breakfast at 1/2 past 8. 2 sailors who have died belonging to the Ship effects sold off fetched much above their price by the men learning to play Chess with Peterson. day very hot. played ecarte this forenoon with Peterson & Backgam[mon] with Payne. all played catch
