To his Excellency the Governor in and over the State of Tennessee

Sir

In Conformity with the accompanying documents and the Constitution of the United States I have to request your Excellency to Issue such process as you may deem necessary to bring the said defendant to justice - I am Sir yours with respect

John Wilkinson Attorney General for the third Solicitorial District

Dear Sir

having sustained the loss complained of in the inclosed proceedings, and feeling interested in bringing the offenders to Justice, I take the liberty of recommending, John McCrosky the sheriff of Monroe County, or am myself willing to be com-missioned by your excellency to go and demand of the proper authority of Georgia. The offender Charles G. Smith

A communication on this subject to the Sheriff Monroe County as soon as practicable will oblige your &c

State Larceny Horse stealing vs Thomas M. Conner Charles G. Smith

In this cause John Miller the prosecutor maketh oath before me

a Justice of the peace for said County the said Thomas M. Conner ^Charles G. Smith the defendant in the said Cause against whom a Bill of In= dictment is found for Stealing a dark bay Gelding the property of the said John Miller by the grand Jury of the Circuit Court ^of said County as appears by [?] [second?] hereby accompanying, has fled [?] is now in the State of Georgia one of the [?] States as this [appoint?] verily believes

Sworn to and suscribed [sic] before me this 5 Nov 1824 John F. Henderson Justice of the Pease [sic] for monroe County

Monroe County 27th Decr 1824

Sir

I had the Honor of receiving yours of the 6th Inst relative to a Demand on the Governor of Georgia for Charles G. Smith = I have seen Mr. Miller according to your request & have sejested [sic] your Ideas to him & he is Determined ^to have the the Demand made there= =fore you will please Send or Direct the Demand to William McCray of this county as my famely [sic] is unwell & my business is such that I cannot leave home
