At the same meeting, the following Extract from the Minutes of Synod was read

"At Toronto, and within St. Andrew's Church there:- the Sixth day of July 1850 years;-

"The which day the Synod of the Presbyterian Church of Canada, in connection with the Church of Scotland, met, according to adjournment, and was constituted with prayer. -

"Inter aliaThe Synod called for the Report of the Committee appointed to consider the state of Queen's College, which was given in. After long reasoning the following deliverance was agreed to.- 'The Synod having hear the Report of Committee appointed to consider the state of Queen's College, approve and adopt the minute of the Commission of Synod held at Kingston on the Eleventh day of October, 1849 anent Queen's College as follows; (Entered at length in Minutes of meeting of Trustees of 5th March 1850 folio 21.)

to an extent not exceeding one-third each by election, or by co-operation: That the City of Kingston be represented, and that provision be made for representing the Government of the Province.

With regard, however, to details on these points, and other matters flowing from them. or incident to the constitutional changes contemplated, the Convention suggests that they be discussed at a joint meeting of the Trustees and the General Assembly's Committee; and that a report of the conclusions arrived at be further considered at the Annual meeting of the University Council, to which it is further suggested, that the Graduates and Benefactors might be invited."

It was accordingly moved and resolved that the Board, having heard the explanations of the Chairman respecting the action taken by the Convention, receives the report with satisfaction and concurrence: That the Board should be called to meet the Committee of the General Assembly in Toronto on any convenient day in the first week of December next to discuss the proposed changes in the Charter.

The Board of Trustees and the Committee of the Assembly met in Knox College, Toronto, 6th Dec, 1900, to consider the proposed changes in the Charter of the University; and after full consideration, in joint meeting, the Committee of Assembly afterwards by resolution, "concurred with the

That the object with which the Womens Medical College was started, of enabling Canadian women to obtain an education in Medicine in their own Country, having been accomplished through the starting of Schools in Toronto & Montreal subsequent to our initiative & it being Evident that there are not a sufficient number of students to supply three Schools have them efficiently equipped, Resolved that the Board do now close the Kingston Womens Medical College & recommend their students to complete their course either in Toronto or Montreal

Septr 28th 1893

A special meeting of the Board was held this day in the College buildilng at 4.00 P.M.

Present: The Chairman (Mr Pense), RV Rogers, Principal Grant, Dr TM Fenwick, AP Knight, RM Horsey, Mrs Dickson, Miss Gildersleeve.

Having considered fully the condition of prospects of the College it was resolved

"That the object with which the Women's Medical College was started, of enabling Canadian women to obtain an education in medicine in their own country, having been accomplished, and the starting of schools in Toronto & Montreal, subsequent to our initiative & it being evident that there are not a sufficient number of students to supply three schools and have them efficiently equipped, Resolved that the Board do now close the Kingston Women's Medical College and recommend their students to complete their course either in Toronto or Montreal."

The meeting then adjourned.
