To all who shall see these Presents Greeting

[page damaged] Commissioned and appointed special Judge of the Supreme Court of Errors & Appeals permanent to the provisions of an act of the General Assembly of this State Passed at Murfreesboro on the 5' day of December 1825 entitled "An Act to provide [page damaged] Court for the trial of Causes in the [sup?] [page damaged] "in Cases wherein the present Court an [page damaged] to hear & determine the following [cases if?] [page damaged] duly [page damaged] to me that there is not a sufficient number of the present Court to [? ?] now sitting at Sparta. - to wit

Alexander Young vs Ralph Crabb & others.- James G. Martin & others [Lesse?] vs William Johnston. - James G. Martin & others [Lesse?] vs Thomas [Goodbehin?] - Cox & Williams vs James Hender= sons [Lesse?] - Chaney & Dale vs E Hickmans [Lesse?]-

In testimony wherof I have hereunto set my hand & caused the Great seal of the state to be affixed at Nashville this 19 day of Augt 1827 By the Governor

The undersigned Judges of the Supreme Court of the State of Tennessee now sitting at Sparta do certify to his Excellency the Governor in and over said State, that there are pending in said Supreme Court at Sparta, at the August term thereof, A. D. 1827, the following causes to hear and determine which, there is not competent the number of Judges required by law; That is to say:

Alexander Young against Ralph Crabb & others {In Equity - Judges Catron & Crabb incompetent.

James G. Martin's ^& others lessee against William Johnston { Judges Whyte & Crabb incompetent.

James G. Martin & others lessee against Thomas [Godbetiere?] {Judges Whyte & Crabb incompetent.

Cox & Williams v. James Henderson's lessee. {Judges Catron & Crabb incompetent

Chaney & Dale v. E. Hickman's lessee. {Judges Catron & Crabb incompetent.

Sparta August 15th 1827.
