We stopped two hours at New Orleans and two hours at Atlanta Georgia and also two hours at Florence South Carolina and about one hour at Richmond Virginia so you can see that we had lots of time to take in the sites at the different places we left Kelly Field last Sunday and got here last Friday afternoon we sure have fine Barricks to live in here they are steam heated also have hot and cold water to take a good bath in so you can see how fine we are fixed up here at this Camp.

I like it better here than I did at Kelly Field as we have no sand storms here we are about a half a mile from the St. James river we went down there Sunday after noon and got a couple sacks of

in L.A., Then jumped over to New Orleans to report for duty. Have been on the go continuously every since, living in a suit case & trunk.

It will take a long time for me to make up the time lost in the 16 months "visit" at Camp Lewis. I wanted to make aviation but was placed as mgr. of movie theatre while my application for aviation was pending. But luck did not materialize, & I never made any grade & lost all hope of getting off the special duty work, until finally my . com. The Col. went down to Camp Kearny & was promoted to Brig. Gen.
