Dear Bates -

It was mighty good to get your long letter, so newsy and reminiscent. As to Barkers death I had heard of it several weeks ago through a friend of his. At that time I sent a strong affidavit to the effect that Barker was seriously gassed, and also sent word to Dave Cutler and Pearson asking them to submit

1921. Are you in your last year of medical school? I'm jealous of you still in school. I'm out in the big world earning my daily bread. Am back at public accounting. Enjoy the work and am prospering. I am not married and have no children.

Dave Cutler got married and settled in Nashua N.H. and now has one addition to his family. Pearson was married before the war. He lives in Chicago.

Drop me a line again sometime. Its good to keep in touch with old friends, and if you ever come East, do look me up.
