Thursday, May 19, 1921.

Dearest Edward,

I am writing this down at the store and as I didn't have any paper with me my Uncle gave me this. I didn't have a chance to write to you to-day, dear, so had to wait until I got down here. I am sitting up stairs where the supplies are kept so there is nobody to bother me.

Received your letter to-day and was so glad to hear from you. Martha forwarded the letter to me. I also wish we had seen the Northern lights on Saturday night, now that I think of it I remember the sky was light but I thought it was the moon. Dearie, the candy is all gone so I cannot send it back to you. Don't you worry about it because I liked the candy.

Well, sweetheart, I have run out of news so will say good-bye to my dearie.

Be good.

As ever, Mar.
