confidently expect people with cars to help us on our way, and they do too, yesterday we had rather bad luck having only gone thirty miles due to the fact that we got on a back road, and we walked about ten of those thirty, but now we are on the main road again.

Several nights ago we were at Old Orchard Beach, Maine, a Salvation Army revival meeting was going strong, and we parked overnight in an extremely religious house, holy sayings nailed up on the walls and even on the front porch. The queerest one was a huge black and white sign in the bathroom, saying "Jesus Only" I felt absolutely wicken when I brushed my teeth in there.

The water was so icy cold at the beach that I cramped my feet
