Dear Bates

I was glad to hear from you I haven't seen any of the old Co. since I was discharged. They all live in the Western parp of the State. I am about 20 miles from Bangor. Have a small farm of my own. I think Swett's address would be So. Paris or Norway. I am not sure witch[which]. I saw about Lt. Becker death in the Am. Legion weekly. They wanted to know about his being gassed. Swette had the Co. then, I guess he was gassed all right enough. We all got some. Lots of the boys here are having trouble from the gas.
