Dear old Sned:

Enclose letter from Mother which please remail to Les. Jos came home from Brookdale this am. over the Bear Creek Road in 2 hrs 52 minutes. He is much better but Mr. Block at the Mill sent him home again. Jos says he is 11 pds lighter today than before he got sick. He had lunch with me today and will be at our house tonight.

I have taken the car to the garage recommended by Mr. Buick and will get it back tomorrow night. They are to take down the engine and if necessary put in new & larger wrist pins, overhaul the bearings, take the radiator off to have the leak mended, and put in new driving gears. It will cost about $40.00, but I cant help it. Your book of the 32nd Div came yesterday. Shall I forward it to you. brax news. Gallegos Sr came in yesterday to thank me for bringing his wife home. He said today that she had quite a lot of pain yesterday but that she was doing very well.

Lots of love

from Jos & me

your loving father

H L A Bates

I will ask Jos tonight about your coennute[?].
