Report from the Trustees.

The meeting then proceded listened to a statement by the President of the doings of the Trustees for the past year and the present condition of the Corporation

Election of Trustees.

The meeting then proceeded to the election of nine trustees by ballot. The following gentlemen were unanimously elected. receiving one hundred and sixteen ballots, Jacob Bigelow, George W. Crockett, Benjamin R. Curtis, Charles P. Curtis, J.J. Dixwell Benjamin A. Gould, Isaac Parker, James Read and Mace Tisdale

Timber Fence Bryant & Blaisdell's Claim.

A memorial from Messrs Bryant & Blaisdell contractors for the erection of the timber fence round the Cemetery, asking the Corporation to appoint a special committee to investigate and adjust their claims was presented and read. Several of the Trustees stated that they had officially examined the matter, and thought the claims unreasonable. Doubts were expressed as to the power of the Corporation to interfere with the action of the Trustees, and it was. Voted. That the memorial and whole matter be referred back to the Trustees.

Additional Act of Incorporation.

The Secretary, presented and read an Act of the Legislature of the Commonwealth passed . entitled An Act in addition to an Act to incorporate the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount

Trustees. .

Pursuant to notices issued in the usual manner, the Trustees met at the office of C.P. Curtis Esqr, on the _. Present Messrs Bigelow, Crockitt, Curtis, Dixwell, Gould, Read and Tisdale.

Chapel. Repairs on.

Voted _ That Messrs Bigelow & Tisdale be a committee, with authority to cause two of the pinnacles of the chapel to be taken down, and rebuilt under their superintendence, and to make all such other incidental repairs as shall be deemed by them expedient.

Jona Preston's claim -

Voted _ That the committee on the subject of Mr Preston's claim have full authority to settle with him on such terms as they deem proper and just.

Byrant & Blaisdell's claim -

Voted. That Messrs Gould & Read be a committee with full powers to settle with Messrs. Bryant & Blaisdell|Bryant & Blaisdell]] as to their claims on account of the timber fence.

Iron Fence painted

Mr. Tisdale reported verbally that he had caused the iron fence of the cemetery to be painted in [?] a superior manner at the cost of $586.54 only.

Trustees .

Pursuant to notices issued in the usual manner the Trustees met at the office of C.P. Curtis Esqr. on the Presents Messrs Bigelow, Curtis Crockett, Little, Parker, and Read

Officers. election of

The record of the last meeting was read and approved. The meeting at once proceeded to ballot for officers for the ensuing year. The following named gentlemen were severally elected by ballot to the several offices set against their names.

President. Jacob Bigelow Secretary. Henry M. Parker Treasurer. Geo Wm Bond. Committee on Lots. Jacob Bigelow, C.P. Curtis, Isaac Parker. " [Committee] " [on] Finance. B.A. Gould, Charles C. Little. Auditor of accounts. George W. Crockett.

Report on repairs of the Chapel.

Dr. Bigelow; from the committee on the chapel, made an oral report, that an experiment had been made which it was thought would prove effectual to remedy the leaks, but that it could not be certainly known until tested by driving storms. The subject was recommitted to the same gentlemen. Messrs Bigelow & Tisdale

Jona Preston's Claim.

Mr Read, from the committee on Jonathan Preston's claim, reported that they had settled with him in full by the payment of four hundred dollars.

Bryants & Blaisdell's Claim.

Mr Read, from the commiteee on Bryant and Blaisdell's claim, reported that it was still under discussion, but that no definite step had been taken in

always, that the Executor shall at the same time release any claim which he may have in any way upon this corporation by virtue of a vote passed by the Trustees (see p. 160-161) with regard to lot numbered 233, which Mrs Williams, his testatrix, then owned.

Voted. That upon receiving such notice, and release together with the sum of one thousand dollars the Treasurer and Secretary be authorized, to execute a release in the name and behalf of this Corporation to the said Executor in full of any further claim upon the estate of the same testatrix

On motion of Mr Read, the report was accepted and the votes as reported unanimously adopted by the Trustees.

Judge Curtis'- Reply from -

The Secretary read a letter from Judge Curtis in reply to the vote passed by the Proprietors on the occasion of his resignation, which reply was ordered to be put in file.

Stained Window of the Chapel. injuries to.

The President stated that the round pane in the head of the principal window of the Chapel on the Northern end, or Chancel window, had been destroyed in a recent storm, and it was unanimous ly Voted, that the President be a committee with full powers, to cause the same to be replaced.

Trustee Process. in the matter of Bryant & Blaisdell's Claim.

The Secretary gave notice of a Trustee process, served on the Corporation, thereupon it was Voted. That this Corporation having been summoned as a trustee in a suit by the Boston Gas Light Company vs. Bryant and Blaisdell, the Secretary be appointed the Attorney of this Corporation to appear and file an answer in its behalf.

Adjourned. A true record. Attest Henry M. Parker, Sec'y.
