Dear Edward:
I wonder if your mother has already told you that I would be opening at the San Diego Hypodrome Sunday? Roberta Lion told me your family were going South. Well I thought I was, but evidently that is not

My dear old Snedward:
I suppose you must be about over now but I have of course no way of tellIng where you land i.e. in England or France. It certainly was hot in New York, and you must have been very glad to get to sea where it would be much cooler. He speaks very highly of you, but feels badly about not being able to get over there himself. He is still apparently on the East Coast, this letter having taken the usual time of 6 days to come across.

He said he was Dick's roommate or classmate all

Do you know that I heard a wee bit of gossip just the little while I was in Alameda. Mrs Medcraft told me she thought Roberta Lion was engaged to Dick - And Caroline Field said she thought she was to you. Now for heavens sakes tell me is there anything to any of this stuff? I met your Mother and Father flying for the train Roberta was seeing them off - She never even spoke to me the darn little snip!! I don't care if she is engaged to you Dick - Tiny and Leslie all at the
