before last had a thrill all its own. We had a very poor day as far as hitches want having started off on the wrong detour, and we walked and walked and walked, not a house or tree or car in sight until about 3 P.M. Then a Ford took us a few miles, and then more walking, along the Susquehanna River, but not trees, so no bathing facilities, when we finally reached a clump of trees, no river! Then a Mr. Ballad, owner of the Ballad Silk Mills kindly helped us a few more miles on our way in his limousine and was so worried about us "three kids" insisted that we send him a card when we arrived home so that he wouldn't have to worry about us the rest
