Dr John Bacon

Dear Sir,

In reference to your inquiry for what sum the Trustees of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn would assume the perpetual care of your lot numbered 2354,- the Committee on Lots have instructed me to inform you, that they have had the same under consideration, and will contract with you for three hundred dollars. -

Very respectfully & truly yours A.J. Coolidge Secretary.

Boston C. P. Curtis Esq. Chairman Comee on Lots,

Dear Sir,

The reply of the Comee on Lots to the inquiry for what sum the Trustees will assume the perpetual care of the Pelham W. Warren lot (no. 1030), also Mr Mann's note advising that it be first put in order by grading and sodding at an expense of $20, has been received. This would require $200 in addition to the $100 already devoted to the lot.-

If you can find means to bring the condition of the lot and these facts to the attention of the Hon. Chas. H. Warren, as I the other day suggested in conversation with you, perhaps something may be done. Mr Wm W. Goodwin of Harv. Coll. assured me that any funds from which to increase this appropriation were entirely wanting.

Very respectfully yours A.J. Coolidge

Capt. D.L. Winsor

Dear Sir,

As the Committee on Lots wish to pay you a visit, and the following lots, which are destitute of numbers, gave them some trouble on their last visit, it seems to me that it will be well for you forthwith to have the numbers cut on the stone post, or wherever you can to best advantage. Probably most of them will pay the bill, the remainder the Corporation must pay:

692 Greenbrier P. Lois Mason's heirs -- Rep. Nathan Fiske - Cambridge
833 Yarrow P. Caroline Doane's heirs -- " ?
439 Indian Ridge P. Charles B. Shaw -- - Tremont Bk. 41 State St
473 Beech Av. Catherine Putnam's heirs - Corpn in trust
497 Willow Av. Israel Lombard's heirs Rep. Mrs Israel Lombard
575 Pilgrim P. Dr Geo. C. Shattuck - 15 Pemberton Sq.
587 Moss P. First Universalist Soc.y - Corpn in trust
680 Yarrow P. Fessenden Mont - Corpn in trust
859 Snowdrop P. - Mrs Nathan Appleton - (late Jesse Sumner's)
2151 Grange P. Samuel S. Osgood - New York
2354 Willow Av. Dr John Bacon - 15 Somerset St.
I notified owners of lots 692, 497, & 859, and one or more of them may have ordered you to do the work. I am quite sure Mrs Lombard has (lot 497.)

Yours truly

A.J. Coolidge

Sec.y
