Jocelyn writes contentedely [contentedly] as usual. He likes the work but the malarial mosquitoe [mosquito] makes it questionable to my mind --- Tell me what you [underlined] think if you can dearest one --- but not if you are too busy or too tired ---

Dicks Classmate Lieut Ivan Graham died from Spanish Influenza yesterday in Quebec. The paper announces it. The one you called upon at Dicks request Admiral Fullam aid? You will remember.

I must write to Les tonight dearest so must say goodnight now. Father has been over at Durneys looking over their very fine [underlined] map of France and company writes about you & Raymond they are always cravying [craving] to hear news of you and so are all the neighbors.

Evelyn Hall is going to write to you he says and so is Miss Haldan and Aunt Maude. Fondest love darling from each of us.

You are also up in our thoughts and in our tongues. Marguerite & Mrs. Lim think one [underlined] of those Dawsonville pictures is splendid [underlined] of you.

Lovingly as always Mother.

So I thought the safer way was to send you a few "eats" by way of this agency I speak of --- I hope [underlined] they reach you safely dear -- Of course we will send the Red Cross box too [underlined] if you send us the slip authorizing it -- but cannot otherwise. Miss Haldan wants you to send the request for sox also -- So we can send those she made for you.

I labeled the enlargement of your photo from "Edward [underlined] to Father - Wishing him many happy autums [autumns] and he says to tell you that "you could not have given him anything finer"

he would like to stay forever there & hibernate perhaps he would [underlined] if we would let him almost.

Lesley may [underlined] have started overseas already. He was expecting to at any moment in todays letters. He says he wants [underlined] to go over now so as to help you --- I have been copying your letter ever since it came about to send him in the hope of it reaching him before the leaves U.S.

I sent the sox Miss Haldan made to him to carry over if he goes & asked him to send them to you from that side if possible & if he does not go to return them to us to [illegible] an order from you that you can have them --- so send along your request with command units [illegible] anyway on the chance of Les not getting them over to you ---
