Proprietors' 1850

Pursuant to the foregoing notice which was published in the Boston Daily Advertiser, a newspaper printed in the City of Boston more than seven days in succession before the said time of meeting, The Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn met met at the time and place designated in said notice. A quorum having assembled, the President Dr Bigelow took the chair.

The Treasurer's and Superintendent's reports were presented read, and ordered to be recorded.

The President submitted a written account of the doings of the Trustees for the previous year and of the present condition of the Cemetery, which was accepted and ordered to be placed upon the Society's files.

Trustees elected.

The following named gentlemen were then unanimously chosen by ballot to be trustees for the ensuing year. Jacob Bigelow, George W. Crockett, B.R. Curtis, C.P. Curtis, J.J. Dixwell, B.A. Gould, Isaac Parker, James Read, and Mace Tisdale.

A proposition from James Munroe & Co to furnish catalogues for general distribution to the Corporators was discussed, and finally referred to the Trustees.

Superintendent's Report 1850

Mount Auburn Cemetery. January 1. 1850. Geo W^m Bond Esq. Treasurer of the Cemetery Corporation, Dear Sir, The whole number of lots improved, the past year by being graded &c. was one hundred and six, Whole number of Lots fenced thirty five, whole number of tombs built five, whole number of monuments erected thirty, whole number of interments four thousand one hundred and ninety nine. Whole number the past year five hundred and fifteen. Respectfully yours Rufus Howe. Sup^t.

Trustees.

Pursuant to notices issued in the usual manner, the Trustees met at the office of C.P. Curtis Esqr. at 12 o'clock. M. on the ninth day of February. A.D. 1850. Present B.R. Curtis, C.P. Curtis J.J. Dixwell, James Read, and Isaac Parker.

Officers elected.

C.P. Curtis in the Chair, the meeting proceeded to ballot for the following officers who were unanimously chosen, each balloting being distinct for each office.

Jacob Bigelow, President. Geo W^m Bond, Treasurer. Henry M. Parker - Secretary. Jacob Bigelow, C.P. Curtis and Isaac Parker - Committee on Lots. J.J. Dixwell & B.A. Gould were chosen Finance Committee. Geo. W. Crockett was chosen Auditor of Accounts. The President now appeared and took the chair.

Catalogue

The Secretary called attention to Messrs J. Munroe & Co.'s proposition for a catalogue for the Proprietors _ and the whole subject was referred to the Committee on Lots with full powers to make any arrangement they see fit for the publication of a catalogue.

Deed to an Executor.

The Secretary stated to the meeting that William Brigham Executor of the late A.H. Fuller, having been informed of the vote of the Trustees at their last meeting on the 25^th of January last, had called upon him to make a deed to him, as Executor of the last will &c of the said Fuller, which being in direct violation of the By Law of the Corporation, as declaring a trust or recognizing one in the said Brigham, he had declined to do so, and now by Mr Brigham's request laid the matter before the Trustees. After some chosen Thereupon Voted, that the it ^^matter be referred to a Committee ^^consisting of C.P. Curtis and B.R. Curtis with full powers. AdjournedA true record Attest. Henry M.
