"Valentines Day" 727 Paru Street - Alameda Cal February 14th

My own dear one

I had forgotten the day until I wrote the date! So this must be my Valentine letter to you for we never thought of sending you one. At least I don't suppose the others did & I did not —

It is pouring rain — and I am alone in the house in bed — I was going to hear Dr Clanpet speak at the Parish House this afternoon but as I am not feeling well decided it was safer for me to stay at home & rest. I might be cured have [?] interesting. He came here a few weeks ago with the Guizpies who I understand did not see [?] action or very little if any. I think [underlined] Dr. C. was up at the parish though I am not sure.
