& wrote a most interesting account of its beauties at the time her father forwarded the letter or a copy to my mother & she sent it on to me — Strange that you should be in almost the same place!

You must have enjoyed meeting Dr. Downing & that other one from Portland. He did not know of course that our dear Uncle Andrew was gone — Everyone feels it dreadfully & says that he was a "man in a million". Aunt Maude writes delightedly of your decoration (there has not been time to hear from the other yet) & says Aunt Florence Uncle Andrews widow [written above the line] says she proud of having such a distinguished nephew!.

Lots of the Berkeley fellows have spoken to Jocelyn about it with great interest. It was in the Daily Cal you know I sent you a copy in an envelope (as I fear to see it [?] I sent it in a [news?] & calling you "Begoote" etc!! not the Daily Cals but the boys. [written above the line] So we are having some exhileration over it & it is doing us good – we only wish you [underlined] were [underlined] here [underlined] to enjoy it with us – Please God you will be soon. We feel as if we can't wait much longer!! It is a blessing Les & Jocelyn
