judge that, as a bombing aviator, he would be quite successful.

Dear old Joce is a farmer boy and is at present some sort of assistant superintendent of one of Mr. Linderman's farms. He appears to be thoroughly enjoying himself and is getting on famously.

His neck appears to be practically well – at least, in his none too frequent letters, he makes no mention of the injury at all.

I suppose that you often have wondered where I have been during the past six months. I will tell you, in view of the fact that you are an officer like myself. I was in South America, Atlantic side and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I first went to Bahia

You see your letter arrived to help cheer the passing hours this morning. I wasn't asked to Priscilla's wedding – they neglected the Haslett's, tho at one time LeRoy and I were quite friendly.

I had thot [thought] maybe I would tag along as Roberta's escort as it really doesn't make much difference who goes to the church – but now I guess she won't be going. My afternoon party has just arrived. Eleanor sent me some ice cream.

You didn't get the idea of those pictures – that is the one Tony D Mark. That meant his name was Tony, I was D. and Mark the good-looking one. He was the one that might have caused you worry. The enclosed was taken at Biarritz. Bob thinks it's the best I've ever had taken. Suit yourself as to his judgement!

I haven't had those [illegible] taken yet – anon I hope to. Will look different won't I? Afraid I'll never be quite the same again. Of course I hope to enjoy another trip abroad – but haven't you ever wanted to go to South America!! Dr. Martin's nurse phoned that he's sick in bed so can't see us this week. Just as well for us perhaps as I doubt if we would have felt like going. Aurevoir – Doris –
