Dear Edward:

Started to answer your letter the other day and then got side-tracked. Was surprised to hear from you as I had given up hope of anyone being still here, that I know. It would have been fun if you could have got to Paris for a day but apparently that seems out of the question as you are headed for home as soon as possible. Probably at Brest now, if not on the ocean. Last week a Lieut. Higgins, 127th Inf. had tea with us. He's a great friend of Capt. Strawbridge from New Jersey.
