in a small way than in a large & spectacular one! ---

You dear old boy - your letter make us both laugh & cry - because they are so natural and so human -- & we understand just exactly how you feel from them --- you have the talent of writing down your thoughts in a very natural way, & it is very comforting because it seems as if you were sitting talking to us.

A letter has just come from Les on the train going East he has just left Winslow wherever that is & mentions Needles the night before also Indians old ones looking like old Inca Indians on the Peruvian Wharfs. (alluding to his South American voyage you know).

No news from Dick --- This is decidedly better at last & at his own house again --- Helen read us a great bunch of letters that all came at once & they sound very natural & more cherful [cheerful]
