letters are the most cheerful thing we have to look forward to now – Dr. Leggy tells Joce he is going to need all the rest he can possibly get – that it is going to be very hard for him to work nevertheless he does not really advise him to stop college.

A long letter came from Nor at last. I suppose I must sent it on to Les to read & ask him to forward to you Am not sure what I shall do with it. The Watermans Mr & Mrs send love – Mrs Hall took your address to write to you which was very kind of her she & Mr Hall & Kittie Hall came to dinner with us Saturday night – Joce was out [illegible] last night.

When you come home as you will, God willing, to go on with you studies -- You could have it put in your own name only or as Mr Hall suggested in regard to Dicks account -- It could [underlined] be in your Father or [underlined] Mother's name. And [underlined] your own (the idea of two persons names only for convenience) -- as your father & I have our household account in the name of R.H. -- or [underlined] H.L.A. Bates but that could be just as you like, of course -- If you wanted [underlined] to open a savings account we think [underlined] you should notify the paymaster where you are -- We don't know the details
