nor talk too fully of private affairs – with Henry Culloden & Effiel V. Culloden it is different. Effie has always been such a good kind friend to you [underlined] that I should not hesitate to tell her anything [double underlined] almost –

Give our love to them all if you do go up dear & to poor Emily Suisabaugh, who has had so much trouble in the loss of her husband. You should see her if you can _ but you won't have much time I know. I wish you had time to come up here! but suppose [undrlined] it is out of the question.

The aunt & cousins I speak of are spending the winter at Santa Monica. & Jain Vredenberg's Mother & sister are with them too I believe from

cousins to any inconvenience by keeping meals waiting or anything like that, remember you are a guest in their house & must try to be as thoughtful and helpful as possible. Let us know whether you find the heat very great, dear. Your Father says to tell you he is very glad to get your card and says [inserted above the line] be sure [underlined] to let us know where to address you. He will try to ship your Brownie Camera, you do not speak of the folding bed or [underlined] the sleeping bag – Do you need either? Poor old dear I hope you will like the work & not find it or the heat too great. Remember we do not wish you to overstrain yourself in any way it does not pay – for you are not yet full grown – & must not overdo [underlined] work of any kind, though some work is good for you –

Lots of love to Henry Culloden & Effie Culloden – They are very kind to have you there – Don't forget my request & instructions – It is nice & cool here now – If weather very hot where you are, get a suitable hat for the work. The one I gave you is good in the country but would not do anywhere else I suppose – A great deal of love

Mother.

his physical welfare as well as his mental education & discipline so that we know he must be taken care of & every moment almost is discipline & he has almost no time to call his own – with you it is different & I must hear oftener. I am fearing you might be sick or something of the kind for you always have been such a good correspondent, but I hope it is not that.

Let us hear from us [you?] immediately & fully please – all pretty well – much love miss us all –
