Dear old Croix de Guerre; The old world has turned round & round lots of times since bidding you good bye at San Salvadour and I suppose many things have happened to you same as to me. Have been having a hard time getting in communication with my army friends owing to the fact that practically all there [their] addresses were in my trunk which I lost on the last leg of the journey to Brest. Wrote Doc. for yours and am just now in receipt of his letter - hence this to you. After leaving San Salvadour I found my troubles had barely commenced.
