Annual Meeting

Mount Auburn Cemetery.

The Annual Meeting of the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn, will be held in Boston, at Mercantile Hall, 16 Summer Street, on to hear the Reports of the Trustees, Treasurer and Superintendent, and to choose Trustees for the ensuing year.

Austin J. Coolidge Secretary. Boston .

Pursuant to the foregoing notice, which was published seven days before the time of meeting in the Boston Daily Advertiser and in several other newspapers, the Proprietors met at the time and place therein named.

A quorum being in attendance, the President, Dr Jacob Bigelow, took the chair.

Records read.

The Secretary read the printed notification of the meeting, also the record of the last annual meeting. _

Annual Rept of Trustees _

The President read the annual report of the Trustees in print, which upon motion of Jeffrey Richardson Esq. was accepted.

Annual Reports of Treasurer & Superintendent

The Treasurer read his annual report, also that of the Superintendent, both in print, which upon motion of Farnham Plummer ^Esq. were severally accepted.

Secy protem. appointed -

Voted, that while the Secretary is confined at the polls, Mr Geo. W. Bond be Secretary pro tem. _

On motion of Mr Phillips

Voted that the polls be closed at ¼ before 6 by the clock in the Hall. _

Temporary Adjournt

Mr Brigham, Chairman of the Committee stated that some two hours must necessarily elapse before the counting of the votes could be completed; _ and on motion of Mr F. Plummer, Voted that this meeting stand adjourned to this place at 8 O'clock to hear the report of the Committee &c. _

The meeting reassembled at 8 O'clock, the President in the Chair. _

Adjournt to next day -

Mr Brigham of the Committee stated ^that a considerable further time would be requisite to enable the Committee to announce the result of the ballotting. _ Accordingly upon motion of Mr Chapman,

The meeting was adjourned to the next day (Tuesday) at 4 O'clock P.M. at the same place. _

At the hour appointed the meeting reassembled, the President in the Chair . _

The Secretary being detained a few minutes, Mr D. R Chapman was appointed Secretary pro tem
