helped me to finish the Windyridge Weekly
& I posted it in dinner hour. Did buttonholes in NW
Had a lecture on R.S.P.C.A. in afternoon and
then had another singing practice.

4 Sat-Ember Day

Very cold day. Helped
Mummy with work in morning. Had a bath
in afternoon. Muriel came up for tea &
we did some pop corns in a cocoa tin.

Careful attention should be paid to vegetable crops
growing in frames. Carrots will need to be thinned
and Cabbage and Cauliflower seedlings pricked out as
soon as they become ready. More ventilation and water
will be required as the season advances. Sow Parsnips
in the open.

Cold Districts.-Prepare a seed-bed in a cold frame
and sow Brussels Sprouts, early maturing varieties of
Cabbage, Cauliflower and Cabbage Lettuce for trans-
planting into the open ground when large enough. Sow
Broad Beans in the open.
