JUNE 6th Month 1945

24 Sun-4th after Trinity Very hot day. St. John the Baptist Midsummer Day Played at S. School in morning & taught primary. Sat on lawn in afternoon & wrote to []. We all (except Janet & Betty) went to Thetford in evening. Judy came with us. Daddy preached.

25 Mon- Full Moon 3.8 p.m. Lovely day. Started dissecting arteries of frog in biology. Didn't have french so copied history notes Didn't have art so did revision. Had quite a nice music lesson. Auntie Daisy, Uncle Dick & Grandma came to tea. Did some revision and cut a few bunches of flowers.

26 Tues Rather cool dull day Picked strawberries and mowed the lawn in morning. Picked some more strawberries in afternoon & went to Sutton & did various errands. Had a practise in evening picked currants with Nev. and drove tractor.

27 Wed Rather cool day. Went out picking strawberries in morning. Had a practise in afternoon & did some revision. Gordon turned up in evening. He is staying at Humphrey's for 2 days. Went to Bible Class. The

1945 30 Days JUNE

28 Th Cloudy cold day. Helped Mummy in morning and picked strawberries. Mummy went to Ely in afternoon. I did some revision. Did not go to school as did not feel well. Drove the tractor in evening. Gordon came to supper. Lots of L and Xs.

29 Fri-St Peter Quite nice day but cool Gordon missed early bus and came along to ours. He went on Cambridge bus. Picked flowers nearly all the morning. Cleaned my bedroom & Janet's in afternoon & had a practise. Cut flowers & drove tractor in evening.

30 Sat Fine in morning but rained in afternoon & evening. Helped Mummy in morning, cleaned bathroom & did errands Did some revision and had a bath in afternoon Eric helped Daddy to paint the car & came to tea. Gordon turned up just after tea. He was preparing a sermon all evening.

Memo Lots of L Xs Wed Padre took it & gave a short talk on pshycology. Bunty Molly Judy Joan, Mr Cotton Bruce, Gordon Leslie Geo Kilvinton Nev & Len came.

JULY 7th Month 1945

Showery cold day 1 Sun-5th after Trinity Dominion Day (Canada) Was sick in morning so did not go to S. School. Gordon preached at Sutton. Had a practise in afternoon and went for a walk with Gordon He left for Brighton after tea. Went to Chapel in evening. Judy came with us. Went in to Miss Vye's for supper.

2 Mon-Moon's last quarter 6.13 p.m. Cold showery day. Still disecting arteries of frog in biology. Revised in free lesson. Did some more of my farmyard frieze in art and did not have a music lesson as Miss Cooper did not come. Revised biology in evening and cut lawn.

3 Tues Quite a nice day. Still doing arteries of frog in biology. Went swimming & it was rather cold. Had a practical biology exam all the afternoon. I did most things wrong. Judy & Bill came in evening. Did some revision & drove tractor.

Cloudy day 4 Wed-Independence Day, U.S.A. Still doing frieze in art. Had quite a nice singing lesson. Came home in afternoon as did not have any lessons. Helped Mummy & did some revision.

1945 31 Days JULY

Very hot day 5 Th--Dividends on Concols due THE GENERAL ELECTION

Had our mock election at school. Discussed politics in current events. Didn't do much in free lessons. Learned biology in afternoon. Played tennis after school. Did some revision and put a fire out (hedge at bottom of land caught fire) in evening.

6 Fri Gerald's birthday

Very hot day. Didn't get anything done in free lessons & discussed politics with Miss Hepplestone instead of scripture. Watched the swimming gala all the afternoon. Revised in evening & washed my hair. Judy came.

7 Sat Ian's birthday Fairly hot day. Had a letter from Gordon. Helped Mummy all the morning. Cleaned up & did veges. Had a bath & revised in afternoon. Bert Edridge came to stay the night. Bunty came in evening and played the violin.

Memo

Wed. Went to B. class Bert Eldridge took it. Padre, Mr Cottam, Joan, Bunty, Len, Leslie, Denys & Geo. Kilwinton came.

JULY 7th Month 1945

8 Sun--6th after Trinity Very hot day. Went to S. School in the morning and taught primary. Sat on lawn & did scripture revision in afternoon. Went to chapel in evening with Geo. P. Revised afterwards.

9 Mon--New Moon 1.35 p.m. Lovely day. Exam week. Had General English exam 2½ hours in morning. Paper not very nice. Had scripture in exam in afternoon. Could not do it all. Revised history solidly in the evening until 10 pm.

10 Tues Poured with rain nearly all day therefore could not go swimming. Had a music lesson in morning and revised. Had a history exam in afternoon. Could not do it. Revised French in evening. Auntie Kelly & Uncle William.

11 Wed Rather cold day. Had a terrible French exam in morning. Came home in afternoon and swotted from 2.30 to 10.30 with an hr for tea. Bunty took the Bible class.
