This part fresh gales and rain from N West. Head NN. Middle part fresh winds and rain lightning and thunder. Wind S West. [Head?] WN West. Latter part heavy gales from S W to S East. Finished trying and stowed down 42 bls.

First part fesh gales and rain from S East. Latter part light winds and calm from the Eastward. Stowed down 40 bls of oil. So ends.

First part calm. Middle part fresh breezes from NN West. Katter part light winds from N West. Saw several whales. Killed one. He sunk.

First part light winds and plea sant from WN West. Spoke the Atlass [Atlas] of New York. Middle and latter part fresh winds from NW and West heavy sea.

First part fresh winds from W to South. A heavy sea from N West. Stear S East and ES East. Latter part light winds from the Southward and a heavy sea from the south. Saw a few whales. Chased no success. One sail in sight.

All these 24 hours light winds and calm. A plenty of whales. Chased got nothing. Lat 44–09

Saturday April 1st 1826

First part light winds from south to N West. Some rain. Saw several whales. Got one and cut him in. Latter part a fine breeze. Spoke the Hannibal bound home 2000 bls of oil.
