Capt Greens Red Plaster for A sore brest
Take 4 ℥ of red lead, & an Ounce of white lead & 3 ℥ of
Bole Armonack beat m into very fine powder
& boyl m in half a pint of e Oyle of Olives, stir
m continually t ey clod not when they turne
colour Alittle drop A drop of it upon A Trench or
Spoon If itt come off w thout Sticking n put to itt
A 1/4 of an ℥ of e Oyle of Exeter stir togather &
dipp e Cloath.
Boyle to take of A 1/4 of an Ell of
holland I can gitt & dipp itt in this plaster by little
& little t e cloath may all wett n I put it out &
lay upon A Table & spread itt w th all e speed I can
w th my hands this plaster is very good if e humor
proceed from heat, itt is to be turned every
morneing & Evening
To make
Bruises, burnes or A sore brest e black salve w ch is good for Aches
{this & X}
Take A pink of best Sallit Oyle and put in 3/4 of A ℔ of
best Bees wax being shaved thin & n let m melt togeth r
and when they are melt'd take m of e fire & put into m 1/2 a ℔
of white lead being finely ground on A paint rs stone & shake it
in & stir itt well togather soe let it boyl 3/4 of an hour. Then
take 2 ℥ of frankinsence being finely beaten & searced shake
it in and stir itt well & e like quantity of mastick & of
Olibium & lastly mirrah vs'd as e ffrankcense, but let
it be almost 1/2 cold before y w put in e Myrrhe; Put in
A 1/4 of an ℥ of Camphire n set it on againe & let it boyl untill,
itt be very black, w ch you shall diserne by letting e stink w ch
y w stir it w th all to drop on A pap r then take it of & keep it stir'd
untill it be quit cold. Then set e pan on e fire t e sides
being warme e Salve may slip out. Thus it may be
keept 7 years, if this salve be too stife to put into e wound
melt Alittle of e Green wax to put to itt.

To make i e Compound oyle call'd Oleum Hyperic
Take of
Johnsworte, of Equall preportion mix m together
in A fair Earthen pott well lead w thin and let m
seath in e same pott be stop'd about and set in e
midst of A pan of water boiling soe long untill
e Juice be consum'd in e seething n let it be
hard pressed through A strong strain & A thick
and thereto (if you haue m) anoher pount of e
flow rs of Stt Johns wort & of very good and clear
Turpatine 4 ℥ & of Saffron 3[n] let m all seeth
again in A double Vessell as affores d for e space
of 6 hours n let it be stoved 3th dayes & after
wards Strain'd & soe prepared & sett up as
aboue written of e com on Oyle and soe keep
it for y r vse
This vsed against all cold Aches & cold Goutts
Sciaticaes palsyes convulsions or Cramps green
wou ds w thout inflamations & for e pricking
of sinews
And note t you must gather y r flow rs in e
begining of June & they must be gathered
in e afternoon in A fair day when there is noe
due on them; and they be best for y r purpose
att e first tyme when they be full blowne, when
being rubbed in y r hands they will dye your hands

Mrs Tassels Cordiall to bring Away an after birth
Take A quart of Small Ale boil it but [Scum] it not
then thicken it w th black Rie flowers, boil it well
Sweeten it w th sugar & let e party drink of it warme
like other Cordiall.
